Do’s During Chandra Grahan:

- Skip Auspicious Activities: No new ventures, religious ceremonies, pooja, or celebrations should be held.
- Do Not Visit Temples: Temples typically close during the eclipse; avoid touching idols or holy objects.
- Don’t Touch Holy Plants: Refrain from touching Tulsi, Peepal, and Bargad trees during Sutak; it may attract spiritual dosha.
- No Physical Intimacy or Arguments: Maintaining peace and calm is advised during Grahan; avoid disputes and close contact.
- No Use of Sharp Objects: Avoid scissors, knives, needles, and even cutting nails or hair.
- No Sleep During Eclipse: Avoid sleeping during the eclipse or Sutak Kaal.
Food Restrictions:
- Strictly avoid non-vegetarian food, eggs, alcohol, fried, fermented, processed, or leftover food.
- Only whole fruit or fresh dry fruits (with tulsi leaves) may be taken by children, elderly, or the ill when food is necessary.

- Purify Yourself: Before starting the mantra jaap, take a bath, wear clean clothes (preferably white or yellow), and sit on a clean mat facing east or north.
- Don’t touch any holy books & idols. Keep temple room closed at home.
- Only do Maansik Jaap, Chalisa, Stotras, Mantras & Aartis which you remember without reading.
