Lord Ganesha Shodashopachara  16-step Worship

1. Avahana (Invocation) – Inviting Lord Ganesha to be present in the idol. 2. Asana (Offering a Seat) – Offering a seat to the deity with flowers. 3. Padya (Washing the Feet) – Symbolically washing the feet of the idol with water. 4. Arghya (Offering Water) – Offering water to wash the hands and face.

5. Achamana (Sipping Water) – Symbolic purification by sipping water. 6. Snana (Bathing the Deity) – Ritual bath using water, milk, honey, curd, and ghee. 7. Vastra (Dressing the Deity) – Offering new clothes or cloth to the idol. 8 Upaveeda (Sacred Thread) – Offering the sacred thread or Yajnopavita.

9. Gandha (Applying Fragrance) – Applying sandalwood paste or scent on the idol. 10. Pushpa (Offering Flowers) – Offering fresh flowers and garlands. 11. Dhoopa (Incense Offering) – Offering incense sticks or camphor. 12. Dipa (Lighting the Lamp) – Lighting oil lamps or candles.

13. Naivedya (Offering Food) – Presenting sweets like modak, fruits, and prasad. 14. Tambula (Offering Betel Leaves) – Offering betel leaves and nuts. 15. Dakshina – Monetary or symbolic offering. 16. Aarti (Waving of Lamp), Mantra Jaap (Chanting Mantras), Pradakshina & Namaskara
